Heart and Mind: preventing Alzheimer's through a heart healthy lifestyle

The known risk factors for heart disease are now shown to be connected to Alzheimer's disease and the other dementias. High blood pressure control is particularly important.

Through exercise, a healthy-heart diet, and medication, A.G.E. Matters recommends that all of our adult and geriatric clients achieve optimal blood pressure control, with a goal of <130/80. Achieving this goal delays and prevents the onset of dementia.
